You're not alone.
Serenity Infant Care Homes offers mental health services to children (ages six months to eighteen years) from the community as well as those in out-of-home placement. Serenity is a private, non-profit foster family agency that has been dedicated to serving the needs of toddlers, children, adolescents, and their families in the San Gabriel/Pomona Valley region since 1990.

Mental Health Services Include:

  • Individual & Family Therapy
  • Outpatient Intensive Therapy for ages 6 months to five years
  • Group Therapy

  • Rehabilitation Services

Interventions are designed to reduce symptoms and improve overall functioning. Family therapy is considered a highly important aspect of a child’s treatment. Parenting groups and psychological testing are also available.

Case Management
Case management services are designed to connect children and families to needed community resources to help achieve and maintain successful functioning at home, school, and in the community. Case managers work closely with DCFS, Regional Center, Social Services, and other local agencies. Services are provided for:

  • Case Monitoring

Medication
Medication evaluations are available to children; medication is only prescribed when therapy is not adequate to reduce symptoms, and to maintain the child’s placement in the home, and functioning in the community and school. A child psychiatrist who specializes in childhood behavioral and psychiatric disorders provides services.

Additional Services
Serenity offers psychiatric and psychological services. We also have on-staff rehabilitation specialists and Marriage, Family, Child Therapists who are trained in the treatment of children and their families. Serenity is affiliated with local universities to provide students with field placements.
