Adoption Through
Foster Care
The goal of Serenity Adoptions is to partner with existing foster parents as they transition from the foster care system into adoptions. Initially, our families are trained to provide safe, stable, and nurturing foster homes for the children placed with them, while at the same time supporting efforts for birth family reunification. Concurrently, the families are trained and prepared with adoptive home studies, should family reunification efforts fail. In the event family reunification is not successful, our family may be approached to see if they are interested in providing a permanent, forever home for the child.
Serenity Adoptions provides an array of services, beginning with a multidisciplinary team providing training, education, emotional support, and knowledge of the adoption process. The team walks with the family through each phase, providing guidance and understanding as the family has the unique experience of transitioning to adoption from foster care.
Since beginning our journey in 1990, Serenity has advocated for the expanding needs of foster children to be met in a timely and efficient manner. With the addition of the Adoptions component in 2006, Serenity now has the ability to stay involved in the child’s life through reunification efforts with family members or adoption as a permanent plan. Working with children and families from the four surrounding counties, Serenity strives to provide ongoing services with the best interest of children remaining our primary mission.
Adoption through foster care is an exciting and rewarding journey, for the child is already bonded with family and loved unconditionally. Every child coming into the foster care system needs to have a safe place to heal and grow. If determined by the court, our families can provide that haven and continue into permanency through Serenity Adoptions.
If your church family is interested in setting up an Adoption Through Foster Care Ministry, Serenity has the resources to assist the church in this mission.
Serenity is also licensed to conduct Independent Home Studies for families residing in our service area, yet pursuing adoptions through other private agencies in the U.S. and internationally.
