The first annual SerenityWALK took place on May 31, 2008 at Christ First Baptist Church of Covina. The event began as a Kingdom Assignment by Serenity foster parents and church members Gary and Nadia Selix. It bore great fruit as over 100 attendees and volunteers came together for a morning of fun, fellowship, fundraising....and walking! Leo Quinones, DJ from K-EARTH 101, kept the energy flowing as he moderated the event and announced winners of dozens of donated door prizes. Red Dragon Martial Arts of West Covina provided demonstrations from talented students; the Covina Fire Department was on hand to show community support and "Bibles for America" provided free bibles. A heartfelt THANK YOU to ALL of our Serenity supporters. We're already looking forward to next year!
